Specialists in animal radio-tracking
At Biotrack, we specialise in the design and construction of radio-tracking equipment
customised for individual projects with over 25 years experience of radio tag
manufacture and research to rely on.
Presenting complete descriptions of our tracking equipment in a printed catalogue is virtually impossible,
with the array of possible technologies and many variation within them. If you are not sure which system to start with, first view our Which System? page that will summarise the alternatives.
Our VHF Tag Chooser has been developed to guide you to the most appropriate VHF radio-tag for your species and study, or see our smallest PicoPips.
For the equipment necessary to track these radio tags, use the VHF Receiving link.
For wider-ranging mammals GPS collars can provide a lot of information without the need for intensive manual tracking. Lotek have specialised in GPS Collars for nearly 15 years and Biotrack now supply these collars to Europe. Our GPS Collars page gives more information on the range of collars that we supply, with weights starting from just 190g and store-on-board or remote download options.
Geolocation has become the way to investigate migratory routes and settling ares of birds not large enough to carry satellite tags. The page on Data Storage Tags provides information about the geolocators we supply and the associated Temperature Depth Recorders for gathering information of the behaviour of diving species.
Our FAQs and Datasheets may give you more information about Biotrack and its products, whilst Research will show you how we are directly involved in projects and has a database of Published Abstracts so that you can see how others have used radio-tracking to investigate scientific and wildlife management ideas.
We pride ourselves on being in-tune with the needs of researchers, and being able to communicate with researchers in the language of biology rather than electronics. To find out more about how we achieve this please see our Quality and Company pages.
