    Why use coded radio tags?

    Coded radio tags send codes rather than simple beeps, meaning that hundreds of tags can share the same frequency but still be individually distinguished by their codes. For datalogging studies this avoids the need to scan through individual frequencies in turn (as with traditional beeper radio tags), reducing the chance of missing a detection by the receiver listening on the wrong frequency when an animal is present. Having multiple tags on the same frequency also means that more frequencies are available for other researchers, reducing congestion at busy study sites.

    Notes on Estimated Lifespan
    The burst intervals and corresponding estimated life specified for the transmitters are provided for comparative purposes.
    Various burst rates are available, based upon application specific considerations and operational life requirements.
    Warranty is 80% of the estimated lifespan, effective from date of shipment.
